Hakka Tiger Kung Fu Book

This is a Kung Fu book I've been working on since the end of last year. I did about 600 interior illustrations, ploughing through 3 pads of tracing paper (and I don't know how many technical pens).

The style is what I learned while living in Malaysia; James Lee was my instructor, and my closest friend while living there. It's no exaggeration to say that training with him kept me sane in a place where there were very few outlets for me. There are things I do for money, and there are things I do out of love; this book is the latter.

Find The Future - Book for NYPL Centennial

Find the Future - book bound by Gavin Dovey @ Paper Dragon Books.

The project was part of the New York Public Library centennial.

This book was a Herculean task, as I laid out 600+ pages in about 4 days; if there is a place in Valhalla for designers, then surely I've earned my seat at Odin's table.

This was supposed to be finished in one night; unfortunately, I don't think I got past 70 pages by the original 6 AM deadline. However, at least one observer credited the Wizard of Awesome for "displaying tremendous grace under pressure."

And I can now say I have a book in NYPL's special collection. Take that, David Carson.

Interview for Break Thru Radio

Did an interview with Matt Lehtola and Phillip Nguyen of Break Thru Radio for their In the Den segment. We started off talking about Chodega and then segued into Black History Month and all things related. They were kind enough to edit it so that I come off as a particularly thoughtful and witty podcast guest.

Check it out here.
